Five Quick Checks That Are Safe to Make
Start with the plain things. Confirm the opener is plugged in and the breaker is on, then look at the wall control for a lock button that has been pressed. Replace the remote and keypad batteries, and check that both small sensor lights near the floor glow steadily.
Leave everything under tension alone. The springs above the door, the cables down each side and the brackets at the bottom corners hold enough force to injure someone, even when the door looks still. If you spot a gap in a coil, a loose cable or a bent track, stop and phone.
